watch 2 chainz (as part of the respect my vote campaign) encourage ex-felons to research their rights and find out if they’re able to vote in their respective city/state. it’s awesome to see him endorse a worthy cause outside of his music. in the videos he acknowledges that he is very influential right now so he wants to promote something positive. but that begs the question.. if you know you can positively influence people, what influence do you think some of your lyrics have? #keepitKING.

every year in october “felabrations” take place around the world to commemorate the life of the legendary nigerian musician and activist, fela kuti who was born october 5, 1938. this performance by yasiin bey and the hypnotic brass ensemble of fela’s classic “water no get enemy” took place during this year’s felabration at the shrine in chicago. i shrieked when i watched it because i love yasiin and i love fela and the band was rockin! lol such a divine combination. #keepitKING.

wow. 21 year old chavis carter was found shot in the head while handcuffed in the back of a police car in jonesboro, arkansas. police officers claim that carter, while handcuffed behind his back, must have reached a hidden gun on his person and committed suicide.. in the police car.. after he was searched.. then arrested and handcuffed.. in the back of the police car.
